JyllandsAkvariet – Get Up Close to Life Beneath the Surface

Bring the whole family on an underwater adventure and discover the fascinating marine life of the North Sea at JyllandsAkvariet in Thyborøn. Here, both children and adults can get up close to sharks, crabs, flatfish, and colourful sea creatures – and some of them you can even touch! It’s a fun, hands-on experience for all ages.

At JyllandsAkvariet, not only is it allowed – it’s encouraged – to reach into the many touch pools. Guests of all ages can dip their hands into the water and feel the claws of a crab, the slippery skin of a flatfish, or come face to face with a shark. It’s fun, educational, and just a little bit wild – exactly what a holiday by the North Sea should be.

In addition to the many aquariums, the centre offers daily feeding sessions, storytelling, and guided outdoor experiences. Join an amber safari with UV light, head out on a seal safari in the Limfjord, or hop on a tractor bus for a harbour tour in Thyborøn.

If the weather turns grey, JyllandsAkvariet is the perfect indoor activity by the North Sea. You can easily spend hours exploring the maritime world, where there’s plenty of room for both learning and play. There’s also a small café and a gift shop with maritime souvenirs and toys.
