Frequently Asked Questions

Before Your Holiday

How do I book a holiday home with Jysk Ferie?
You can easily book directly on our website. Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details about your stay.

How does payment work?
When booking, you pay a first instalment of 30% of the total rental amount. The remaining balance is due no later than 8 weeks before arrival. Jysk Ferie does not charge a security deposit.

What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel your booking at any time by sending a written request to info@jyskferie.dk. Please include your order number and reason for cancellation.

The cancellation fee depends on how close to the arrival date you cancel:

  • Up to 70 days before arrival: 20% of the total rental price (min. DKK 500)
  • 69–35 days before arrival: 33% of the total rental price (min. DKK 500)
  • 34–14 days before arrival: 75% of the total rental price (min. DKK 500)
  • From 13 days before arrival: 90% of the total rental price (min. DKK 500)
  • On the day of arrival: 100% of the rental price

We recommend having a travel insurance policy that may cover cancellation costs.

Can I bring pets to the holiday home?
Many of our homes are pet-friendly. You can see in the house description whether pets are allowed.

During Your Stay

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 4:00 PM on the day of arrival. You’ll receive key collection instructions by email about a week before your stay. The house must be vacated by 10:00 AM on the day of departure to allow time for cleaning before the next guests arrive.

Where do we collect the key?
Keys are either provided via key box or picked up at one of our offices, depending on the property. You’ll find all relevant key collection details in your rental agreement. See our opening hours here.

What should we do if damage occurs during our stay?
Please contact Jysk Ferie as soon as possible if any damage occurs. As a guest, you’re required to report any damage during your stay. If we discover unreported damage during cleaning or afterwards, you may be charged for repairs. In such cases, an administration fee of DKK 720 will be added.

Can I reach Jysk Ferie outside office hours?
Yes, you can. If an urgent issue arises outside our normal opening hours, you can call our emergency hotline. We’re available 24/7 to assist you in critical situations.

Is final cleaning included?
Final cleaning may be included or added during booking. Regardless, the house must be left tidy: the dishwasher emptied, waste removed, and the grill cleaned (if available). Details are included in your rental agreement. Extra cleaning charges may apply if the house is not left in proper condition.

Departure

Where and when do we return the key?
As a rule, keys should be returned in person to a Jysk Ferie office by 10:00 AM on your departure day. Before leaving, you must read and record the electricity, water, and heating meters on the consumption sheet provided at check-in. Utility costs are settled when you return the key.

If you need to depart outside office hours, please contact us in advance. We can arrange for you to leave the key and consumption sheet in a key box. We will then calculate the utilities and send you a statement.

I forgot something in the holiday home – what do I do?
Contact Jysk Ferie, and we’ll check if your item has been found. If we locate it, we can send it to you – shipping costs will apply.

Practical Questions

Is there Wi-Fi in the holiday home?
Most homes offer free Wi-Fi. Check the specific house listing to see if internet is included.

Do we need to bring bed linen and towels?
Yes, you need to bring your own bed linen, towels, tea towels, and dishcloths. In some cases, you can add a linen package when booking – see available options online.

Can we charge an electric car at the holiday home?
Some holiday homes have charging stations for electric cars. Check the house listing for details or contact us if you’re unsure.

How is utility usage settled?
At Jysk Ferie, we do not charge a deposit. Utility usage is calculated and paid at departure. When you collect your key, you’ll receive a consumption sheet showing the initial meter readings. Before you leave, record the final meter readings and settle the amount at our office.

We ensure that the house is heated upon arrival – free of charge – so it’s warm and welcoming. After that, you only pay for your actual usage during your stay, unless otherwise agreed in advance. Feel free to contact us if you want an estimate of the typical utility costs for a specific house.

Many holiday homes offer a barbecue – either charcoal or gas. The barbecue must always be thoroughly cleaned after use. A cleaning fee will be charged if it is returned dirty.

Some holiday homes have bicycles available, but we cannot guarantee their condition. If you wish to use bikes during your stay, we recommend bringing your own or renting from a local bike rental service.

We recommend locking the house and windows whenever you leave the property – even for short trips. Jysk Ferie cannot be held responsible for the theft of personal belongings.

Electric and hybrid vehicles may not be charged at the holiday home unless a certified charging station is installed. Charging via standard power outlets or other non-approved setups is strictly prohibited due to fire risk.

If the property does not have a charging station, we refer you to public charging points in the area. Feel free to contact us if you would like information about the nearest charging locations.

Please remember to check the house thoroughly before departure – it’s easy to forget something. If you leave behind personal belongings, we’ll be happy to help locate and return them to you. Items are sent by parcel post, and shipping costs will be charged to the guest. Forgotten items are stored for up to one month. Jysk Ferie is not responsible for any lost or forgotten belongings.

It is not possible to have mail delivered directly to the holiday home. If you need to receive packages during your stay, please contact us – we may be able to assist through our office, depending on the delivery service.

Please be considerate of neighbours and the surrounding area. Loud music, parties, and other disturbances are not allowed and may lead to complaints. A holiday should be an enjoyable experience for everyone in the area.

All holiday homes are equipped with outdoor furniture for your use. During the peak season, the furniture may experience extra wear, so we recommend protecting it from rain and storing it under cover after use.

If you experience any issues with the holiday home or notice defects or missing items, please contact us as soon as possible. You can visit us at the office or call during our regular opening hours. Outside office hours, you can always reach us via our emergency hotline, which is intended for urgent situations. We are here to help – both during the day and in the evening – if something requires immediate attention.

Smoking is not allowed indoors in any of our holiday homes. Outdoor smoking is permitted, provided it is done respectfully and cigarette butts are disposed of properly.

During storms or power outages, temporary disruptions may occur. If you experience any problems, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you as quickly as possible.

As a general rule, strollers are not available in the house. A baby cot and high chair can often be added to your booking as extras – see the options under “Add-ons” when booking, or contact us if you’re unsure.

Waste must be sorted according to local municipal guidelines and disposed of in the designated bins or waste containers at the holiday home. Failure to sort waste correctly may result in an additional fee.

The water in the area is clean and safe to drink but may have a high lime content. We recommend flushing the shower briefly if it hasn’t been used for a while.
